Joyce Buck

May 23, 1936 — May 13, 2025

Temperance, MI

Joyce Marie Buck, a devoted wife, beloved matriarch, passed away on May 13, 2025 in Lambertville, Michigan, at the age of 88. She was born March 23, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, the loving daughter of the Late Emerson and Marie Pettit.

Joyce shared 68 years of marriage with her devoted husband, John Edward Buck, with whom she built a life full of love, family, and partnership. Together they raised six children: John E. Buck (Pamela) James Buck (Debbie) Ronald Buck, Robert Buck (Roxanne), Melissa Martin (Michael), and Margaret Walters (Matt). Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A graduate of Central Catholic High School, Joyce was a proud cheerleader and carried that same enthusiastic spirit throughout her life, especially when cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She was a lifelong Michigan football fan, an avid watcher of the PGA and LPGA, and even had the trill of attending several tournaments in person. Joyce also enjoyed game shows and card games, and traveling always bringing joy and laughter wherever she went.

For many years, she worked at Food Town, where she rose to the position of department manager – a reflection of her strong work ethic and dedication. At home, Joyce found peace in tending to her garden, delighting in cooking with fresh vegetables she grew. She had a deep fondness for the color purple and especially loved yellow-peach roses. In her later years, shew loved going out to eat and spending time with family.

Joyce Buck will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the joyful energy she brought to every part of her life. Her memory will be deeply cherished by all who knew her.

The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
