Joshua J. Benjamin, affectionately known as Josh, was born on September 12, 1984, in Toledo, Ohio. He passed away on February 28, 2026, in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and laughter.
Josh was a multifaceted individual, often described as a jack of all trades. His diverse skills ranged from carpentry to mechanics, and he was also a talented chef who found joy in cooking for those he loved. A proud graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 2003, he was a spirited soul whose loud personality could light up any room. Whether he was cheering for the Dallas Cowboys or the Ohio State Buckeyes, Josh was a very active individual who thrived on being engaged and busy, rarely able to sit still.
His family was of utmost importance to him, and he took great pride in being a devoted father to his beloved daughters, Brooklyn and Raegen Benjamin. Josh cherished his parents, Dave J. Benjamin and Monica L. Benjamin, and had a close bond with his brother, Mike Benjamin. He is also survived by uncles Robert and Lenard Benjamin, aunts Jacqualine Benjamin, Alice Johnson and husband Freddy, Anita Turner, and Sandy Pitkanen and husband Fred, as well as nephew Logan Benjamin and a host of friends and extended family members.
Josh possessed a kind heart and a sensitive nature, always willing to go the extra mile to lend a helping hand or make someone laugh. His boundless energy and vivacious spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Josh is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, on March 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 4:00 PM. The address for the services is 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
Josh is gone but certainly never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
