Joseph A. Monaghan

Joseph A. Monaghan, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away June 5, 2025 at Seacrest Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born December 18, 1942 in Toledo to James and Ursula Monaghan. Joe was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and received his Bachelor of Business from the University of Toledo. He was a 25 year veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard, discharged as a Warrant Officer. Joe was employed with the Ford Motor Company as a Line Supervisor for 38 years. After retirement, Joe worked for ProMedica as a Medical Courier for the past 15 years. He was an avid bicyclist and he loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events, never missed a game or practice. Joe also had a green thumb and enjoyed working in his yard.

In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Gerald, William and Frank Monaghan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan J. Monaghan; sons, Christopher Monaghan, Shawn Monaghan and Aaron Monaghan; grandchildren, Cortney (Mark) Zimmerman, Austin Monaghan, Olivia Monaghan, Cassie (Sam) Altman, Chase Tishler and Cole Tishler; great-grandchildren, Devin Zimmerman, Hudson Zimmerman, Nolan Zimmerman.

The family will receive guests Friday, June 13, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900).
