Joseph L. Greenwood, age 77, passed away on January 25, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Toledo, Joe was the son of James and Mary (Lawrence) Greenwood.
Joe attended Cherry Elementary School and graduated from Macomber High School in 1967. He worked at Superior Typesetting in Toledo and later spent a brief period employed by the railroad before beginning his long career with Acklin Stamping (Ice Industries), where he remained until his retirement in 2008. He was active in the Masonic community, serving as Past Master of Triad Lodge. His involvement also extended to the Shriners organization.
Joe remained in Toledo where he married Andrea (McNally) Greenwood, and together they raised two daughters.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Julie (Michael) Kruzel and Jody (Chad) Whiting; his beloved grandchildren, Michaela (Jedediah) Caldwell, Daniel (Sarah) Kruzel, Olivia Whiting, and his brother John (Linda) Greenwood and a host of other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Andrea, his sister Kitty Whitehead; and his brother Jim Greenwood.
His grandchildren were an incredible source of joy, and he cherished every moment watching them grow. Joe will be remembered for his love of sweets, his life-long passion for country music and his love of singing.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Newcomer Funeral Home on King Road; Saturday, February 7, starting at 11:00 - 2:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
