Jonathan "Jon" Paul Trumbull, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on February 17, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on June 2, 1954, to the late Jerrold and Crystal Trumbull.
Jon graduated from Sylvania High School with the class of 1972. Over the years, he worked at Advantage Electric, where he formed friendships that lasted long after his time there. He later spent more than two decades with Dillin Automation before retiring in October 2025.
Jon lived life with a straightforward style and never pretended to be anything other than what it was. He could be rough around the edges, but the people who knew him well understood the loyalty, humor, and kindness underneath.
Music was a constant in Jon's life. A lifelong rocker, he spent decades playing bass guitar in the band Taboo, building friendships that lasted far beyond the gigs themselves. His bandmates will remember the long nights, the loud shows, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from sharing a stage.
Jon also loved golf and played in several leagues over the years. He enjoyed the game, the trips, and the friends who joined him. Those rounds - full of good shots, bad shots, and plenty of laughter - were among his happiest moments.
He was immensely proud of his family and leaves behind three sons, Jesse (Tina), Shane (Hiede), and Jason; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special brother, Scott (Karen Jensen) Trumbull; and former daughter-in-law, Kendra Trumbull. He is also survived by many friends, extended family members, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Cindy, Alan, and Shari; and the love of his life, Helen Trumbull, whom he has been lost without since her passing a few years ago. Helen was the only one who could truly keep Jon in line.
Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Road, Toledo, Ohio 43617, on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28,2026, from 10:00 am until the time of his Funeral at 11:00 am.
