Johnny Spearman Sr.

Johnny Spearman Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born April 16, 1946 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Luther and Carrie Mae Spearman.

Johnny was united in marriage to the love of his life for 53 years Mary Alice Spearman, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. They shared a very special marriage, a true testament of faith, devotion, and enduring companionship. Together, they built a strong and loving family, guided by their love for the Lord and values of kindness, dignity, and respect.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Victoria (Victor) Colbert, Dennis (Sara) Spearman, Schinetria (Eddie Kennedy Jr.) Spearman, and Orlando Middleton; his loving grandsons James Spearman, Justin Fitch Sr., Antonio Bell Jr., and Romeo Turner. A special nephew and niece, Jesse (Anna) Rayford Sr., along with a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts

Johnny was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Alice Spearman, his parents Luther and Carrie Mae Spearman, his beloved son Johnny Spearman Jr., and grandson Joshua Spearman; sister Katherine Shields; brothers Jason Spearman and Lester Spearman.

Johnny’s legacy of faith, love, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him. A special thanks to Kingston Rehab of Sylvania and their staff, Flower Hospital and their staff, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio

Family and friends will be received at the Union Grover Baptist Church, 3232 Nebraska Ave., Toledo on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 12:00-1:00PM. A memorial service celebrating Johnny’s will immediately follow visitation at 1:00PM.
