Johnny Lee Johnson, a dedicated and hardworking man who devoted 38 years of his life to working for General Motors, passed away peacefully at his home on May 5, 2026. Born on January 8, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Johnny's life was marked by a tireless work ethic, deep family connections, and a love for simple pleasures.

Johnny's career at GM was a testament to his commitment and loyalty, spanning nearly four decades during which he contributed significantly to the automotive industry. Beyond his professional life, Johnny was a man of many interests. He found joy in fishing, playing the guitar and his curiosity extended to learning Spanish, a pursuit that illustrated his eagerness to grow and connect with others. Additionally, he cherished the daily walks at the Y with his beloved wife, activities that nurtured both his health and their close bond.

On May 15, 2002, Johnny married Trenia Johnson, a union that brought him immense happiness and companionship. Together, they shared many years filled with love and mutual support. Johnny was also a devoted father to his children: Lashawn Johnson, Damon Johnson, and Danielle Jackson. His family expanded further with the joy of 4 step children and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all carry forward his legacy. His siblings, Mitchell Johnson and Sheryl Whitmire, remain as living witnesses to the life he led.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Johnson, and father, John Calvin Palmer, whose memories he honored throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Johnny Lee Johnson at a visitation to be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. This time will be an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew Johnny to pay their respects.
