John E. Clark, a beloved figure and master carpenter, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on February 6, 1967, in Defiance, Ohio, John was known for his incredible work ethic, remarkable craftsmanship, and a heart full of love. He graduated from Benzie Central High School in 1985, where he not only showcased his athletic abilities as a basketball player but also began to develop the foundational skills that would propel him into a fruitful career in construction.

For many years, John was the owner/operator of Cowboy Builders in Honor, Michigan, where he earned a reputation as someone who could build almost anything. Most recently, he worked for SMB Construction in Toledo and was currently with ServPro in Maumee. He poured his soul into every project, completing each task with the utmost dedication and creativity. It is no surprise that he endeared himself to countless clients, who loved him as much for his talent as his warm, engaging personality.

John's humor was legendary, often pulling light-hearted jokes that left his family in stitches. His strength, both physical and emotional, shone through in his unyielding commitment to help those around him. He was a man who invested deeply in his relationships and was always there for his loved ones, a sentiment felt keenly by his devoted wife, Barbara Clark. Married for 35 wonderful years, Barbara often noted how attentive John was, always filled with love and ready to lend a listening ear.

His daughter, Sarah Poellnitz, cherished the memories of her father teaching her to fish and drive, making Christmas cookies, and his unwavering presence during important moments in her life. These memories brought her not only joy but a sense of security that can only come from a father’s love. Additionally, Sarah’s fiancée, Guy Wright, shared a bond with John, enjoying their rounds of golf together and delighting in the festive spirit John brought to Halloween decorating.

John's grandson, Guy Wright III, will always remember the way his grandpa could turn ordinary days into grand adventures, whether it  was cheering him on at one of his games or a day spent laughing and creating together. The stories John told—colorful and detailed—will live on in the hearts of his family, an echo of his vibrant spirit.

In addition to his family, John is survived by his mother, Doris Streeter, and her husband, Lee; his sister, Dayna Ginter, and her husband, Steven; and a host of extended family and friends who felt blessed to know him.

He was predeceased by his father, Al Clark, and his grandmother, Margaret Clark, both of whom he remembered fondly and spoke of often, ensuring that their legacies remain part of his narrative.

As a passionate outdoorsman, John loved hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also found joy in bowling, softball, and playing on the men's basketball league in Frankfort, Michigan. John was always surrounded by friends and family. His enthusiasm for Halloween and Christmas decorating showcased his creative flair, transforming his home into a joyful spectacle that many looked forward to each year.

The joyous laughter, heartfelt memories, and love that John shared will resonate deeply within all who knew him. John E. Clark will be profoundly missed, yet the legacy of love he crafted will continue to shine brightly. He was loved as much as he loved those surrounding him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts he touched.
