John S. "Jack" Callahan, age 92, of Toledo, passed away September 24, 2018 at St Anne's Mercy Hospital. John was born December 19, 1925 in Toledo to John and Anna (Gear) Callahan. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, serving on the USS Phelps. He was employed with Dupont for 31 years retiring in 1982. Jack was a member of Christ the King Church, VFW Post 606, Conn Weisenberger American Legion Post and Maumee Valley Seaway Commanders Barber Shop. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy J. (Joseph) Schuette, granddaughter, Sarah (Corey) Miller, great grandsons, Blake and Landon Miller.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, MaryLou; daughter, Corrine; brother, Irvin and sister, Bernice Dolt.
The family will receive guests Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Newcomer - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road (419-392-9500) Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 am. at the funeral home followed by burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
