Joel A. Cline, age 60, passed away on December 13, 2023, in his home surrounded by family.
He was born to Gilbert and Judith (Jorgenrud) on February 14, 1963, in Toledo, OH. He was a Shoreland area resident and attended Whitmer High School. Joel went on to enjoy a successful career in the United States Navy. He retired from the Navy after more than 17 years of Submarine Service.
Joel was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert; son, Michael; and granddaughter, Teagan. Joel is survived by his mother, Judith; children, Laurie Fitzner Bartley, Julie Cline, James Cline, Ronald Cline; siblings, Jill Lawrence, Brian Parker, Melissa Helton; 9 grandchildren and 4 nieces.
Joel was known for his passion for keeping up with Naval current events as well as world events. He was also an avid reader and a huge Formula 1 Racing fan. Joel will be fondly remembered for his great intellect and eccentric over-the-top conversations.
