JoAnn was a proud, devoted, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Her greatest passion was the love she had for her family and taking care of them. They truly were her pride and joy.
JoAnn was an excellent cook. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she enjoyed showing off her skills. JoAnn showered her loved ones with delicious meals daily or at holiday gatherings. Always ensuring it was a celebration of family, good food and love. Anything JoAnn made will be missed. Some of the favorite dishes were her potato salad, angel food cake, ice box cookies or any Sunday dinner.
JoAnn was the true matriarch of the family. She dedicated her life to her husband of over 66 years. JoAnn stood by Sonny's side and their love is a true testament to what true partnership and devotion looks like. Their bond is the foundation upon which our family thrived and her absence will leave a void that can never be filled.
Together JoAnn and Sonny always liked attending county fairs, Friday dinners at the mall, Shipshewana and Gibraltar to name a few. They also loved garage sales and hitting random flea markets on the weekends and also camping with the Laney's.
JoAnn truly had a heart of gold, everyone's rock and confidante and endless source of wisdom. Her smile, spirit and laughter will live on in our hearts forever and in those who knew and loved her.
