Jimmy Ray James Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his family, following health complications. Born on April 4, 1960, to the late Jimmy R. and Helen June (Bare) James Sr. in Toledo, he was a graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School, Class of 1978.
A skilled Journeyman mechanic for more than 30 years, Jimmy eventually fulfilled a dream by opening Northwest Fleet Services with his son. His greatest pride, however, was the life he built with his wife of 42 years, Kathy, and their sons, Joshua and Jason James. Jimmy loved sharing time with his boys, whether riding motorcycles, playing guitar, or racing and hot-rodding.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Helen (Bare) James Sr., and his brother, Jeffery A. James. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and their two sons, Joshua and Jason James. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Dawn James, and three nieces, Angela Vacek, Sherry Luke, and Kelsie James.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Jimmy's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Jimmy by sharing favorite memories or personal stories using the Guestbook below.
