Temperance, Michigan

Jesse Joe Rodriguez, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully departed this world on July 9, 2025, in Temperance, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on November 15, 1943, in Adrian, Michigan, Jesse lived a full life marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

After proudly serving in the U.S. Army and earning a National Defense Service Medal, Jesse embarked upon a long and rewarding career at General Motors, where he spent 23 years as an assembler. His hard work and determination were evident in every task he undertook, earning him the respect of his colleagues and admiration from those who knew him.

On December 1, 1967, Jesse married his beloved wife, Un Suk "Peggy" Rodriguez. Their union was one of deep love and mutual respect, solidifying a partnership that would span decades and create countless beautiful memories. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, instilling values of kindness, respect, and resilience in their children, Raymond (Teresa) Rodriguez, Henry (Lisa) Rodriguez, and Jesse (Stacy) Rodriguez Jr.

Jesse's spirit was intertwined with his passions. He found immense joy in hunting deer with his father and camping adventures with family, illustrating his love for the great outdoors. A devoted family man, he cherished every moment spent with those he loved, especially watching Michigan football, which brought excitement and camaraderie into their home. Fondly known as "Papa," he created lasting memories for his grandchildren—Raymond Rodriguez Jr., Julea Kanouh, Zoe Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez, LilyAnn Rodriguez, Madelynn Rodriguez, Abigal Rodriguez, Jesse Rodriguez III, and Ashley Rodriguez. He treasured every moment with his five great-grandchildren, conveying wisdom and warm laughter, and providing unconditional love and guidance.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose (Montes) Rodriguez, and his brother, Richard Rodriguez. The bonds of family extended through his surviving siblings—Henry Rodriguez Jr., Arthur Rodriguez, Olivia Dowling, Robert Rodriguez, Frances Pike, and Dolores Rodriguez—whose shared memories of Jesse will forever be held close to their hearts.

A journey marked by dedication, love, and joy, Jesse leaves behind a profound legacy that will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain a guiding light for his wife Peggy, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As they gather together to honor his life and share stories of love and laughter, they know that Jesse's spirit will always be with them, celebrating the very essence of family and togetherness that he cherished so deeply.
