Jeffrey A. Bayes

Jeffrey A. Bayes, 61, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Toledo. He was born on February 27, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio.

After graduating from high school, Jeffrey joined the United States Navy. He served for eight years, with assignments that took him to Germany and Scotland. His years of service reflected a steady commitment and sense of duty that remained an important part of his life.

After being honorably discharged he began a career with Toledo Trust Bank. He continued his career with Computer Aided Technology (CATI), retiring earlier this year. 

Jeffrey was known for his quiet demeanor and for the simple life he valued. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader of history and religion books, interests that brought him both peace and purpose. Those who knew him will remember a man who found meaning in life’s steady routines and in the things that mattered most to him.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth McKibbin; his step-mother, Judy Bayes; his brothers, Michael (Sara) Bayes, Thomas Bayes; and his sisters, Melissa Niedzwiecki, Janel (Mike) Mowka, and Kellie (Randy) Erbskorn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Bayes, and his step-father, Don McKibbin.

Jeffrey will be remembered with love by his family and by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.

Jeff will be laid to rest with military honors at Toledo Memorial Park on Friday, August 28, 2026. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Kroger gates at the cemetery beginning at 12:45 pm to be led back to the graveside ceremony.
