Jeffery Scott Lord

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our father, Jeffery “Jeff” Scott Lord, age 60. He was called home to join his beloved wife Michelle in heaven on May 10th, 2025. He passed away peacefully in his childhood home.

Jeffery was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 12, 1964 to Bobby and Marie (Rhodes) Lord. Jeffery was a 1983 graduate of Rogers High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Vernon on July 21, 1984. Together they share three children: Nicole (James) Kinsman, Jeffery (Erin) Lord Jr and Bryant (Jennifer) Lord; and six grandchildren: Natalie, Carson, Saylor, Emelia, Layla and Lakelyn. They were married for 36 years.

Jeffery is survived by his three children, six grandchildren, parents: Bobby and Marie Lord, brothers; Edward Lord, David (Kim) Lord, sister; Angela Goin and sister in law Jodi (Chris) Sweatt; brother in law Patrick

Vernon. Along with many treasured nieces and nephews. Jeffery was proceeded in death by his wife of 36 years Michelle (Vernon) Lord; mother in law Pamela Vernon; father in law Larry Vernon; brother in laws Van Goin and Larry Vernon; and grandparents, Russel and Mary Rhodes; Louie Lord and Ruby Belle Crawford.

Jeffery loved boating, spending time on Lake Erie with his family. He enjoyed going to breakfast and Internet cafes with his best friend of 55 years, Terry Koch.

His love of boating started at a young age. He loved spending time with his grandparents on Lake Erie. Into adulthood, he shared and passed down his love for the water with his wife, children and grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm, a Memorial Service will immediately follow, at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo.
