Listen to Obituary

Jean Pamela Kirsch was born on 7 June 1933 in Brighton, England, to her parents, Vincent and Margaret Deegan. She spent her childhood in Lincoln, England, alongside her sister, Sheila, a place and a bond she cherished throughout her life.

Jean’s life changed forever when she met David, the man who would become her lifelong partner. On 8 October 1960, they began a marriage that grew into more than six decades of devotion, adventure, and shared purpose. Together they raised three children, Michael, Victoria, and Scott, building a family rooted in loyalty, resilience, and enduring love.

As a military spouse, Jean embodied strength in motion. Through David’s 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, she supported her family across continents and cultures: Italy, England, the Philippines, Turkey, and numerous bases throughout the United States. With every relocation, Jean created a home, a place of stability, warmth, and belonging. Her role was not simply supportive; it was the foundation upon which her family stood.

Her family grew across generations, each one touched by her kindness. She treasured her grandchildren David, Lindsey, Kerri, and Ela and delighted in her great-grandchildren Adella, Hayden, Camden, Evan, and Daylin. She embraced her extended family with equal affection, including her niece Elizabeth and her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Tulay.

Jean’s life was defined by devotion, adaptability, and quiet heroism the kind lived not in headlines, but in homes. She gave her family strength through sacrifice, comfort through presence, and love without condition. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, and in the countless lives she touched with her steady, gentle spirit.

In honor of Jean’s lifelong commitment to service and family, please consider donating to your favorite veterans’ organization in her name.
