Jason Richard Campos, 54, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025 due to complications from renal cancer that was discovered late. His departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born on May 20, 1971, Jason grew up in Toledo and attended DeVilbiss High School before proudly earning his GED later in life. Known for his strong work ethic and skillful hands, Jason spent much of his career in the maintenance field, always ready to lend his expertise or a helping hand.
Jason’s heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his devoted wife Sharon; his children Bobby, Emma, and Julien; and his stepchildren Eric and Corrinne, along with Corrinne’s fiancé Greg and their daughter Vivien—who brought Jason so much joy—as well as a new grandchild on the way.
He also leaves behind his loving siblings: Jennifer Campos (and her children Kayla and Laura, and grandson KayShaun), and Steven Barbour (and his wife Jessica, and their children Logan, Thorin, and Clara). He is mourned by his Uncle Charles and Aunt Deborah Beyer, and their children David (with Sasha, Robin, and Anne) and Mark.
Jason was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Janet A. Barbour, and his grandparents, Mary L. Beyer and Charles H. Beyer.
Jason had a quiet but passionate spirit. A lover of all kinds of music, he found peace in melodies and rhythms. He was an avid collector—of baseball cards, coins, and Lego sets, which he took pride in building with precision and creativity. He had a soft spot for watching sports, often in the company of his friends, where laughter and lively conversation always followed.
Jason’s life was marked by quiet strength, deep love for his family, and a creative soul that found joy in the simple things. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege to walk alongside him.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jason’s memory can be made to a cancer research foundation of your choice. The family will be planning a celebration of life soon and will keep everyone updated for the future date .
