Jannice Holt

Jannice Holt, age 89, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caring soul peacefully went to be with Jesus in Heaven on June 21, 2025.

Jannice was born on March 21, 1936 to Sidney and Minnie Quillen. She grew up on a farm in Tennessee in a family of 13 children. Jannice went on to fall in love and marry her soul mate, Guy Holt in 1953 and moved to Toledo, Ohio where they started their family. She gave birth to four children, had four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and even a few great-great-grandchildren. Besides her family, one of her proudest accomplishments was making medical compression stockings at Jobst for 30 years, which made her so happy when she earned her diamond ring. She was a devoted christian and attended Echo Meadows Church of Christ for over 50 years. Jannice loved cooking her big southern style holiday/Sunday dinners for her family. She was most importantly generous, loving and kind. Jannice would without hesitation, look after and take care of anyone in need. She had the biggest heart.

Jannice was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Guy Holt; children, Patsy and Ronald Holt, and Linda (Randy) Grimes; grandchildren, Jason and Todd Grimes; and several of her siblings. 

Jannice is survived by her daughter, Peggy Streight (Tim); granddaughters, Amy (Jeffery) Walkowski and Kelly (Joshua) McCarley; great-grandchildren, Keagan and Braxtan Lach, Madison Walkowski, Taylor Grimm, Brennan McCarley, Jenna Brown, Todd Grimes; and great-great-grandchildren, Owen and Isla Grimes.

We know that we can't keep you forever, but find peace that the angels have taken you home to Heaven. We will forever love and miss you. 

Family will receive guests on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo, where a Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
