Janice Ella Perkins, born on October 29, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A cherished member of her community, Janice's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Janice dedicated a significant part of her career to helping others, working for Weight Watchers, where she inspired countless individuals on their journeys to better health. She also served in the cafeteria of Springfield High School, a place where she nurtured young minds with her wholesome meals and encouraging words. A graduate of Springfield High School, she took pride in her education and sought to instill the same values in her family.
Janice found great joy in her hobbies, particularly crocheting and reading books, activities that allowed her to express her creativity and share her love with friends and family. She possessed a unique ability to create beautiful, handcrafted items that served as cherished gifts for loved ones, while her passion for literature introduced her to countless worlds and stories.
On May 8, 2004, Janice married her sweetheart, Matthew Perkins, creating a partnership built on love and mutual respect. Together with their families brought her immense joy. Her legacy continues through her beloved children, Gary (Heather) Warton and Scott (Gail) Warton, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Abi, Brycen, Ian Warton, Scott Jr, and Alyssa Warton. Janice also shared treasured moments with her siblings, James (Polly) Malohn and Jerry "JG" (Cheryl) Cullum, along with her sister-in-law Joanne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian Cullum and Paul Malohn, and her brother, Paul "Chip" Malohn.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Janice’s life will be held on August 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. A memorial service will follow the gathering, commencing at 5:00 PM, allowing friends and family to come together to honor and remember her remarkable life.
Janice Ella Perkins will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
