Janice R. Carr, affectionately known to her family as "Mimmy," passed away peacefully at home in Toledo, Ohio, on May 30, 2026. Born on November 1, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Janice lived a life full of vibrancy and warmth, leaving behind a legacy that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Janice was truly the life of every gathering, her outgoing nature and infectious spirit lighting up any room she entered. She often reminded those around her with a smile and twinkle in her eye, "You are as old as you feel," a testament to her youthful heart and zest for life that never waned. Her love of joy extended into her hobbies, as she delighted in karaoke sessions that showcased her fearless spirit and artistic soul. Reading was another of her cherished pastimes, revealing a thoughtful and reflective side that balanced her lively presence.
Her passion for creativity was deeply woven into her life's fabric. Earning a degree in Interior Design, Janice had the gift of transforming spaces, frequently redecorating the family home with an eye for beauty and comfort. Her artistic talents were admired by all who experienced the warmth and care she infused into her surroundings.
Family was the cornerstone of Janice’s world. She shared a very special bond with her granddaughter Ashley Carr, an accomplishment she held closest to her heart. Her son Ryan Carr carries forward her loving spirit, as do her dear friends Bonnie and Donna, who cherish the moments they shared with Janice. Though her beloved husband, Leo Carr, to whom she was married for 54 wonderful years, and her son Brett Carr have passed, their memories live on lovingly within her family’s story.
Janice’s departure leaves a profound absence but also a rich tapestry of memories that inspire joy, kindness, and resilience.
