Janet (Morvatz) Price, 76, of Monclova, Ohio died from complications of diabetes on July 30, 2025. She was born September 26, 1948 to Matthew and Margel (Wenner) Morvatz in Carrollton, Ohio. She married John Price on May 27, 1972, and he survives.
Janet was a graduate of Carrollton High School and Akron University. She taught kindergarten until the birth of her son, Justin. Janet was deeply involved in the Grange at the local, state and national levels, including many years serving in positions as Ohio Ceres and the Ohio and National Deaf Activities chair. Beginning in her teenage years she became an advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing. She was an active member of Pickerington Peace United Methodist Church and helped coordinate the senior and women's groups. Janet was known for her generous spirit—delighting in writing cards, sending gifts and supporting various individuals and charities. An avid Ohio State fan, she was a Pickerington resident for almost 38 years. However, Janet’s greatest joy was children. She dearly loved her three grand-daughters, as well as her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents and stillborn twins. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Price, of Monclova, and son Justin (Amy) and grand-children Lucy, Josie, and Allison, of Waterville, Ohio, and many extended family members.
In her memory, we invite you to donate to any of the following organizations: Peace UMC Church (Preschool Fund or Parents Day Out), Ohio Grange Patrons of Husbandry Foundation Scholarship, International Christian Centers for the Deaf (www.iccd.net), or Youth With A Mission (YWAM MT, Caleb and Kelsey Powers, 501 Blacktail Rd, Lakeside, MT, 59922).
