James F. Winterfeld

James F. Winterfeld, age 79, of Delta, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at Swanton Valley Care Center. Born on December 7, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, Jim was the beloved son of Floyd and Betty (Crider) Winterfeld.

A 1965 graduate of Springfield High School and a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Military Police officer, Jim led a life rich with passion and dedication. He found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his tractor, and most importantly, spending cherished moments with his family.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Winterfeld; his sons, James (Janelle) Winterfeld and Jason Winterfeld; grandchildren Cody, Kyle, Cassidy, Payton, and Preston; as well as great-grandchildren Codi, Harley, Lucas, and Amara. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (Roger) Stafford and Pamela (Lester) Champion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Betty, his brother Morris Winterfeld, and sister Wendy Mayberry.

Services for Jim will be private. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
