James Edmund Storey Jr., a devoted family man, talented musician, and skilled craftsman, passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on February 23, 1943, James lived a life rich with love, creativity, and dedication to his faith.
For 60 beautiful years, James was the beloved husband of Torda Storey. Together, they built a life filled with memories, joy, and unwavering support for one another. James cherished and took pride in his children: Michael (Janell) Storey, Angela (Chris) White, Dana (Ralph) Reynolds, and Julie Halsey. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ian, Sabrina, Elena, Nevan, Ryan, Jenna, Emma and Sasha. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy, Mary, and Jane. Each of them held a special place in his heart.
James was a talented individual who embraced music and the arts throughout his life. He expressed his artistic spirit by playing the piano and singing, showcasing his immense musical gift. In addition to this love for music, he was also passionate about drawing, sketching, and painting, allowing his creativity to flow through various mediums. James was devoted to his Christian faith and dedicated his life to his relationship with Jesus.
James was self-employed and dedicated to perfection in his tile and masonry work, applying his skills to create beauty and functionality in many people’s homes. He also proudly served his country as an Army Veteran, demonstrating his commitment to service and duty.
James's academic journey began at St. Wendelin and continued at the University of Toledo, where he pursued an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering. His education laid the groundwork for his career, during which he made many friends.
James is remembered not only for his talents and accomplishments but also for his gentle and devoted Christian nature. His dedication to his faith embodied the qualities of kindness, humility, and love.
While he leaves behind a loving family and a lifetime of memories, James is now reunited with his mother, Wilma Storey (nee Hammer), father, James E. Storey Sr., son, James E. Storey, and brother, Thomas Storey, all of whom he cherished deeply.

A visitation to celebrate his life will be held on October 10, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
