James F. Stevenson, Sr.

James F. Stevenson Sr., affectionately known as "Harvey," passed away on May 29, 2026. Born on February 24, 1957, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he was a man who lived his life with generosity, support, and an unwavering dedication to hard work. Through every chapter of his life, James remained deeply committed to his family, his passions, and the community around him.

Harvey was a fervent enthusiast of motorcycles, finding joy and freedom in the open road. His love extended to model cars and antiques, treasured hobbies that reflected both his keen eye for detail and his appreciation of craftsmanship and history. These interests were a significant part of his identity, offering a window into his thoughtful and meticulous nature.

Throughout his life, James nurtured many close relationships, surrounded by family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his devoted son, James Jr., and his siblings: brothers George (Debbie) Stevenson and Jesse (Becky) Stevenson; and sisters Judy Adkins, Ruth (Larry) Scott, and Florence (Richard) Aiken. Harvey’s loss will be profoundly felt by all who knew him, especially those who shared his familial bonds.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marvin and Mary Jane Stevenson; his sister Sarah Lewis; and his brothers Robert, Paul, Marvin, and Larry Stevenson. Though they have gone before him, James’s memory endures through the lives of those he touched and the legacy of kindness and dedication he leaves behind.

A visitation to honor and remember James F. Stevenson, Sr.  will be held on June 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd in Northwest Toledo, Ohio, 43623. This will be a time for family, friends, and community members to come together to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man whose generosity and unwavering work ethic enriched those around him.

James “Harvey” Stevenson, Sr. steadfast spirit, his enduring love for his family, and his cherished hobbies leave a lasting imprint. With profound respect and sorrow, we remember a life well-lived and a soul deeply treasured. He will be missed but never forgotten.
