James Albert Pattillo III, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1945, in McKinney, Texas, James lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep sense of passion for both his career and his family.

James proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including two tours in Vietnam. His honorable discharge was a testament to his commitment and bravery, a chapter of his life he held with great pride. Following his military service, James pursued further education, graduating from Springboro High School and earning an Associate’s degree, laying the foundation for a fulfilling career.

He dedicated over two decades to Glass Tech, where his enthusiasm for his work went beyond a job, it was a true passion. James traveled the world extensively as part of his role, embracing new experiences with the same outgoing and easygoing nature that defined him. Colleagues and friends alike admired his willingness to help others, his infectious sense of humor, even when a little inappropriate at times, and his unwavering supportiveness.

At home, James found his greatest joy in the people he loved most. Devoted to his wife Connie for 53 years, their enduring partnership was a beacon of love and commitment. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by Connie; his daughters Heather and Forrest (Cory); his cherished grandchildren Ivy, Cypress, Meadow (Nico), and Dalyn, his brother Steven (Peg); and his nieces Jessie and Margaret .They will carry forward his memory, as will all who had the privilege of knowing him.

James was also a lover of nature and quiet moments, finding solace and happiness in bird watching, reading, and spending quality time with his family. He was especially fond of his dogs, Beanie and Toby, who brought him immense joy and companionship.

In addition to the family left behind, James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Doris Pattillo, and his grandson Kayne Adams, loved memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.

James Albert Pattillo III’s life was a testament to a man who lived with integrity, warmth, and a genuine care for others. His legacy as a proud grandfather, devoted husband, and a courageous Navy veteran will continue to inspire and comfort all who cherish his memory.
