James "Jimmy" King, born on May 25, 1961, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on April 12, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio surrounded by friends and family. He was a man known for his very outgoing and friendly nature, combined with a strong will that guided him throughout his life.
Jimmy cherished many moments of simple joy. He loved days spent at the beach, where he would relax and soak up the sunshine, camping trips where he found peace and happiness in the great outdoors Traveling to New York City was another favorite pastime, as he enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city, especially in Chinatown. Jimmy enjoyed many other hobbies, such as gardening, lawn care, bowling, and long days at the golf course. He had a special fondness for Bigfoot which reflected his unique interests.
One of Jimmy's greatest sources of pride was his Puerto Rican heritage. He enjoyed sharing his culture through food, music, and dancing. His passion for chickens was nurtured by his childhood in Puerto Rico where he raised chickens in his backyard. Being a business owner was also a significant accomplishment that he valued deeply. He spent years perfecting his craft for painting, design, decorating and loved sharing his ideas with others.
Jimmy valued times spent with his family and close friends. He is survived by his devoted husband, Andy Krieg, and three sisters. He was also surrounded by a loving chosen family: Diane and Brett Varner, and Jane and Todd Cermak. His mother and fathers-in-law, Chris and Brian Green, as well as Ron and Bonnie Krieg, along with many other in-laws, and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rosa King, his beloved dog Stouie, who was never far from his lap, and his chosen family members Richard and Betty Burke.
Jimmy lived a life full of warmth and courage. He is remembered fondly for his friendliness, strength, perseverance, resilience and the joy he found in the world around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
