James "Jim" Jordan II, a cherished son, beloved brother, devoted husband, and loving father, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2025, at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments, a fitting farewell for a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
Born on October 26, 1969, in Toledo, Ohio, Jim’s joyful spirit and adventurous heart made him a favorite among friends and family alike. An outstanding member of his community, Jim forged his path as a Marine Corps veteran and later as an EMT and fire fighter. He embraced each day with an outgoing personality that could light up any room—truly, he was the life of the party.
Jim's love for the outdoors was palpable; he found immense joy in hunting, fishing, watching and going to football games rooting for University of Michigan, and gardening, particularly nurturing his prized tomatoes. His culinary talents shone brightly at family gatherings, where he delighted everyone with his passion for cooking and grilling. Friends and family will fondly remember the Halloween celebrations Jim would host, always ready to bring laughter and cheer, even dressing as a pirate despite being an amputee—his humor and zest for life were infectious.
Above all, Jim took great pride in his accomplishments. He lovingly built his garage as a sanctuary reflecting his creative spirit, where he could play, tinker, and unwind. This sanctuary was symbolic of the dedication and hard work he put into everything he loved, including his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his mother, Shirley A. Jordan; his wife of 28 years, Tami Jordan; daughters Sabrenia (Marwan) and Kelsey (Omar); and eight adoring grandchildren who brought him unparalleled joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce and Theresa (Bob), and a host of family, friends, and loved ones who will carry on his legacy with deep love. Jim’s beloved pets, Max the cat and Bear the German Shepherd, who provided unwavering comfort and companionship, will forever be a reminder of his incredible kindness and gentle spirit.
He is preceded in death by his father, James M. Jordan, and his cherished golden retrievers—Shadow, Gunner, and Logan—who surely welcomed him with warmth and wagging tails in the great beyond.
A visitation will be held on July 1, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo. As loved ones gather to honor his memory, they will remember Jim not just for his many achievements but for his heart—one that was as grand as his laughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests in honor of Jim's memory that you may donate to The Ability Center or Amputee Coalition.
Jim Jordan leaves behind a legacy filled with love, humor, patriotism, and unwavering support for all he encountered. He will be missed dearly but remembered fondly, forever celebrated in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
