James C Hobson entered Eternal life on March 1, 2026 at his private residence in Toledo, Ohio.
James was born to the late James C. Hobson Sr. and Dorothy Lee Hobson. He was the eldest son born to this union and carried that role with pride throughout his life. Affectionately known by family and friends as Jimmy and Jim Bo, he graduated from Woodward High School as a member of the Class of 1978. Jimmy was a proud Woodward Polar Bear, and during his school years he showed great talent in both football and baseball.
Jimmy was known for his strong work ethic from a very young age. At just 12 years old, he began learning a trade that would shape the rest of his life. Through dedication and skill, he became self-employed and built a reputation for excellence. Many knew him as the "Sheet Rock King," because in Toledo, there was simply no one better at his craft.
Above all else, Jimmy loved his family deeply. He took great pride in being a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Those who knew him will remember him as friendly, caring, dependable, funny, and passionate about everything he did. Jimmy also had an imagination far beyond his years and loved sharing stories with those around him. One of his greatest joys was tracing family connections and finding distant cousins throughout Toledo, strengthening family bonds wherever he could.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving parents; his son, Derrick Turner; and his sisters, Linda Tankerly and Tonya Hobson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Sharon Kirby, David Hobson, Joyce Fitch, Sandra (Joseph) Buie, Reginald (Sylvia) Hobson, Monique Townsend, Marquita Townsend, Maurice Townsend, Renee Johnson, and Cynthia Cooper.
He also leaves special loved ones who held a close place in his heart: Special Cousin Bonnie Britten; Special Nieces Rokesha Fitch and Teriyah Russell; and Special Nephew Dillon Winters, along with a host of children, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who cherished him dearly.
Jimmy's presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
