Jaime Michelle Wernet, known affectionately as MiMi by her adored grandbabies and Idjit by her beloved granddad, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in her hometown of Toledo, OH. Born on September 21, 1976, Jaime was a beacon of light and love throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
A graduate of Whitmer High School and attended the University of Toledo, Jaime forged a successful career as an Admin to the Vice President of Purchasing at Faurecia and AP Parts. Most recently for the past 3 years, she was working as an administrative assistant for the Human Resources Director of Lucas County. Her professional life mirrored her personal one; she was unselfish, always ready to assist those around her, and her kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Jaime's personality was a beautiful blend of compassion and warmth. She radiated with love and kindness, always seeing the best in people, even when others did not. It was this unwavering positivity that made her a friend to everyone and a loving mother above all. Her children, Emma, Bryce, and Morgan, along with her cherished grandkids, Jackson and Laine, were the center of her universe. Jaime was not only a mother but also an inspiration to all; her strength and courage during her final days were a testament to her enduring spirit.
From age 4 through high school, Jaime loved and had a huge passion for dance, especially performing with the Echoes of Poland in Toledo. This love of movement and culture was a defining part of her youth and brought her immense joy.
Apart from her family, Jaime found joy in the company of her animals, especially her dog Minnie. She was a passionate Jeep enthusiast who took pride in her beloved pink Jeep, and she was also a huge Disney fanatic who loved everything Disney—from the magic of the parks to the timeless movies that brought her joy.
Music held a special place in her heart, captivating her from the melodies of her parents' generation to the modern pop hits of today. Jaime was a tech wiz, quick to help family and friends navigate the ever-evolving world of technology. Anyone who knew her could attest to her willingness to go out of her way to support them; her genuine character uplifted countless lives.
She is survived by her loving parents, Mike and Jan Clegg; her brother, Jeff Clegg; her sister, Joelle (David) Olzak; sister-in-law, Heather Clegg; her husband of over 20 years, Jay Wernet; her children, Emma Wernet, Bryce Wernet, and Morgan (Chris) Corbin; her grandchildren, Jackson Corbin and Laine Corbin; as well as her in-laws, Charles and Diane Wernet; sister-in-law, Tabetha (Greg) Taylor; brother-in-law, Jessie (Mary) Wernet; and many other cherished nieces, nephews, family members, and lifelong friends.
Jaime was preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Marion Billheimer; grandparents Caroline and Frank Geremski; grandfather Charles Clegg; cousin Ryan McCormack; and grandparents-in-law Betty and Dick Wernet.
Jaime's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. A memorial gathering to honor her remarkable life will be held on December 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in West Sylvania, Toledo, OH. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember the joyful spirit that Jaime embodied, and may we carry her warmth and kindness in our hearts as we navigate our own lives.
