Jacqueline Elizabeth Sims

Jacqueline Elizabeth Sims, fondly known to many as Jackie, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 90. Born on July 13, 1935, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline was a woman whose beauty was matched only by her immense capacity for love.

Throughout her life, Jackie demonstrated an unwavering dedication to her family, which she cherished above all. Her children, Jay Sims and his wife Kim, Anne Sims, Tina Rigel, Rob Sims and Tom Sims with his wife Krystle will forever remember her as the epitome of a loving mother. Jacqueline took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, always placing her family's happiness at the center of her world. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Lara Sims, Shannan Fleet, Tim Jurkovac, Brock Rigel, Grant Rigel, and Kiele Sims, as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy.

Jackie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Sims, with whom she shared an incredible 61 years of marriage. 

In addition to her family, Jackie leaves behind her brother, Buzz Cloonan, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family members. Her warm presence and kindness touched the lives of many, and she enriched their days through her vibrant spirit.

A passionate knitter, Jackie found joy in crafting beautiful pieces for her loved ones, a tangible representation of the love she poured into every stitch. Family gatherings were a focal point of her life, where she gathered her loved ones around to share laughter and create lasting memories. As a devout follower of her Catholic Faith, Jackie drew strength and solace from her beliefs, often finding ways to include her faith in her daily life.

Jackie's memory will be held close by her family and friends, who will celebrate her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her loving nature and generous spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her.
