Jacqueline Neal

Jacqueline Neal, age 81, passed away peacefully in Toledo, Ohio on April 23, 2025. Throughout her entire journey of life, she was a believer and servant of the Lord Christ and maintained her faith in all circumstances. She was a woman of deep faith who, during her final days, joyfully proclaimed that she was “going up yonder to be with her Lord!” and returned to Him in peace. Her devotion to the Lord is where her strength was cultivated. 

Jacqueline was born on August 03, 1943, to parents William and Alma (Wilson) Mars. She was a graduate of Burnham High School in Sylvania, Ohio. She was employed in her early years but spent most of her life as a loving homemaker to her family. 

Jacqueline grew up with a large and loving family who appreciated her warmth and gentle demeanor. She enjoyed keeping in touch with them, provided an empathetic listening ear, and held them in her prayers. Jacqueline is celebrated in memories by her family, who recall growing up with her in the countryside, taking walks to the farmers market, and playing card games. Her steadfastness in attending weekly Bible study and church services was an example of faith to them. 

Jacqueline is survived by her granddaughters Natasha (sp. Hananiah), Tiara (sp. Lorenzo), Nishia; great-grandchildren Hasana, Elijah, Josiah, Loren, Joshua; greatgreat-granddaughter Akili; sister Shirley Kizer; brothers Marvin (Towanna), Lawrence (Linda), Norman (Barbara), and Frederick Mars. She is also survived by her loving extended family. Jacqueline is predeceased by her daughter Jeanette Neal; parents William and Alma (Wilson) Mars; brothers Terry, Gerald, William Jr, and Wilbur; sisters Barbara and Berniece. 

Jacqueline’s funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2025, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, OH 43614. Viewing will begin at 10:00am, followed by service at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
