It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jacqueline L Murray who died on 4/3/2026 at Toledo Hospital surrounded by family. Jackie, as she liked to be called, was born on 9/26/1936 in Toledo, OH. As a child her family traveled the country together as her father’s work required. As an adult she lived in Toledo but still loved to travel.
Jackie was preceded in death by her Mother, Hattie Mae Coulter (Mills) and her Dad Kenneth Coulter; by her sisters, Patricia Fritz, Nancy Lou Dersh and Gloria Jean Coulter; her brother Kenneth (Red) Coulter Jr; her son Charles (Chucky) Murray; and Grandson Alex Murray.
Jackie is survived by her children: John (Cathy) Murray , Steve (Deborah) Murray; Cheryl (Mike) Goolsby; Lori Faust; Carmen Murray.
Grandkids include Hillary Faust, Benjamin (Jen) Murray, Alex (Chelsea) Murray, Nick Murray, Jonathan Murray, Katie Murray, Jenny (Dan) Wyse, Christopher Murray, Sondra (Shawn) Ewing, Ian McKahan, Blake McKahan, Sarah Goolsby, Mike Jr (Emily) Goolsby, and Ryan (Jessica) Goolsby.
Jackie also has 27 great grandkids and 10 great-great grandkids.
Jackie never finished high school but worked and obtained her GED in the late 1970s while working full time and raising her kids. She then went to Stauzenberger College to obtain her associate’s degree in Secretarial Sciences. After many years of working in factories, as a dispatcher at Roadway Trucking, driving a Tarta Bus and selling Real Estate, she used her degree to go from the sewing room at Jobst institute to becoming an executive secretary until the business moved out of the country. She then opened a home daycare that she ran for several years.
While running her daycare Jackie got into Girl Scouts where she was extremely active. Jackie had several troops at the same time, never letting girls that wanted to belong be without. Her senior girl scout troops made 2 trips to Europe, 1 trip to Alaska and 1 trip to Australia. Jackie and her daughter Cheryl along with Cheryl’s family were awarded the “Family of the Year” from Girl Scouts of Northern Ohio in 1992. Jackie also received the Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2005, from Medical Mutual of Ohio Senior Advisory Counsil for her work with Girl Scouts of Northern Ohio.
Jackie will always be remembered as a hardworking, stubborn women who loved her family. She also had a love of crafting and traveling that she passed on to her family.
A visitation will be held for Jackie at Newcomers 4150 Laskey Rd on Wednesday, April 15,2026 from 2pm to 8pm. The Funeral will be Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11am with a showing from 10am till the funeral. The luncheon will be held at Church 321 located at 5845 Centennial Rd., Sylvania, OH immediately following the funeral.
In loving memory of Jacqueline, donations may be made to Girl Scouts of Western Ohio or Saved by Zade, causes she held dear to her heart.
