Jacqueline M. Lewis

Jacqueline Marie Lewis, 74, passed from this life on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Swanton Valley Rehabilitation in Swanton, Ohio. Jacqueline was born October 19, 1951 to the late Albert and Patricia Wyrick in Toledo, Ohio. Jacqueline was educated in the Toledo Public School System and graduated from Scott High School. She then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant at the University of Toledo.

She married Richard G. Lewis, Jr., on January 18, 1969 and they had two children, Patrick Lewis and David Lewis, Sr. She worked in the medical field as a Medical Assistant for most of her life, working at Riverside Hospital and later at the University of Toledo Medical Center, from which she retired. After retirement she worked as a volunteer at the YWCA.

Jacqueline was a member of Ridgewood Church of Christ where she sang with the Voices of Christ. She relocated her membership to Glass City Church of Christ where she was a member of the United Acappella Chorus and a teacher of the Dorcas class. Jacqueline had a beautiful singing voice.

Jacqueline helped pair the women’s Bible Class with community organizations such as the Sparrows Nest and the Family House. At the YWCA she helped with the Touch My Hand Breast Cancer Support Group. She also shared her personal life experiences to help support those she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard; her parents; her sister Sandra Gilmore. She is survived by two sons, Patrick (Elondia) Lewis and David Lewis, Sr.; nephews Eric (Keisha) Gilmore, Keith (Marcy) Gilmore, and Sean (Trina) Gilmore; eight grandchildren: Solita, David, Jr., Lance, Jasmine, Lamar, Kiara, Lexis, and Angelina; former daughter-in-law Jean Parrish; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 6:00-8:00PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11:00AM with Dr. Robert G. Birt Jr. officiating.
