Isaac D. Fletcher, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 30, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on October 8, 1955, in Lorain, Ohio, and dedicated much of his life to his career and family.
He graduated from Macomber High School in 1974, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life defined by determination and dedication. Isaac was a proud truck driver for 36 years, honing his skills at Pitt Ohio for the last 20 years. His knowledge of roads and road laws was unparalleled, highlighting his commitment to his work.
Beyond his professional achievements, Isaac's personality was driven by a profound love for his family. He cherished monthly outings with loved ones and took immense joy in spending time with them. A loving grandfather, he never missed an opportunity to engage with his grandchildren, often seen playing on the floor, a testament to his warm and playful spirit. His hobbies also included enjoying the excitement of casinos, tending to his yard, and sharing stories with the neighbors.
Isaac is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Peggy Fletcher; his son, Isaac Fletcher Jr.; his daughters, Brandye Fletcher-Foster and Victoria Fletcher; his granddaughters, Alyssa Fletcher, Daijeonna Fletcher, Deziarr Isom, Shilah (Sebastien) Johnson, Shiasia Gregory, and Breonna Foster; his grandsons, Javon Fletcher-Johnson, Donyel "DJ" Forrest Jr., and Chayse Quinn; and his great-grandsons, Xavier, Bryson, Saint, and Isaiah. He also leaves behind his brothers, Eric Davis and William Davis-Cooper; his sister, Crystal Francis; his brothers-in-law, Frank (Joanne) Bailey, Jim White, and Tony (Sylvia) Bailey; his sisters-in-law, Wanda Andrews, Kathy (Joe) Rutledge, and Patty (David) Box; his aunt, Joyce Dunnavant; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember him for his kindness and loyalty.
Isaac was preceded in death by his mother, Thressa Davis; his father, King Edward Davis; his brother, Frederick Davis; his grandparents, Althea and William Fletcher; his uncle, John Fletcher; his sister-in-law, Faye White; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Andrews and Jack Bailey. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. Isaac will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his dedication to his work, and the warmth he brought into every interaction.
Isaac's family would like to extend their gratitude to the Oncology Staff at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital, especially nurses, Sarah and Alyssa, and volunteer, Laura, for their unwavering support and kindness.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
