Irene Czerniawski, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away April 28, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends. Irene was born December 23, 1946, in Ellvangen, Germany, to the late Michael and Maria (Blahaveschenska) Wojtowycz.
Irene graduated from Woodward High School. During those years, she was involved in cheerleading, dancing, and was a Polarette. Her love for dancing continued through the years into adulthood. Irene worked at The Toledo Hospital as a transcriptionist, where she retired after 30 long and dedicated years. After retirement, she continued to work as a transcriptionist with her own company.
She was a huge fan of Elvis, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes play, and watching the television show, Monk. Irene was known for her organizing ways and making sure everything is in order. She loved being outside and tending to her garden, hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, getting together with her girlfriends, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and her grandpups! The memories made will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to have Irene in their life. This is not goodbye, but we will see you again!
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her two sons, Michael (Nicci) Czerniawski and Joe (Shannon) Czerniawski; grandchildren, Chase, Noah, Jonah, and Naomi; grandpups, River and Ryder; two sisters, Anna (Kevin) Brandon and Mary Ann (Tom) Osuch; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends!
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Czerniawski, whom she married in 1968.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
