Helen JoAnn Mock, 87, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at The Lakes of Monclova, where she had resided for the past several years.
Born on January 28, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, JoAnn was the beloved daughter of Richard and Madeline Stickle. She attended Libbey High School and married the love of her life, Jim Mock, on April 14, 1956. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with five children: Debbie Carroll, Jay (Karen) Mock, David Mock, Karen (Tom) Supinski, and Jim (Julie) Mock. Their family continued to grow through numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her unconditional love.
JoAnn devoted her life to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. As a homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for those around her. She lovingly babysat her grandchildren, played an instrumental role in their lives, and created countless treasured memories that will be carried forward for generations.
She will be fondly remembered for her compassionate heart, her selfless devotion to her family, and the genuine joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. JoAnn especially enjoyed playing cards and working on puzzles with her dear friend, Ruth, at The Lakes of Monclova. Her quiet strength, generous spirit, and enduring love left an immeasurable impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
JoAnn was truly the heart of her family. Her love, resilience, and grace shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who called her family or friend. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Madeline Stickle; her beloved husband, Jim Mock; her sister, Pat Slicker; her son, David Mock; and her granddaughter, Christina Mock.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Debbie Carroll, Jay (Karen) Mock, Karen (Tom) Supinski, and Jim (Julie) Mock; her grandchildren, Phil (Kendra) Carroll, Eric (Amy) Carroll, Chris (Lena) Carroll, Kathleen (Denis) Gonzalez, Stephanie (Gustavo) Vega, Jamie (Max) Lunsford, Melissa Mock, Andy (Kathy) Guinther, Thomas Supinski Jr, Joe Supinski, Jon Supinski, Abby (Josh) Rose, and Angie (Zach) Stokes; along with numerous cherished great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to honor JoAnn’s life at the Newcomer Funeral Home, (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 10:00AM-12:00PM. A service celebrating her life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in JoAnn’s honor to the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio or Heartland Hospice.
