Helen Hill Williams

Helen Hill Williams, age 90, of Perrysburg, OH, formerly of Sevierville, TN, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, November 5th, 2025. Helen was born, November 27th, 1934, to Luther and Roena Hill, Sevier Co., TN.

She graduated from Sevier County High School as Salutatorian and continued her education with an Associate's Degree from Knoxville Business School. After graduation Helen was employed by McNelly Whaley Chevrolet, until her marriage to John D. Williams, January 15th, 1955.

She began her married life with J.D., in Toledo, OH, working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Northwest Ohio, until the birth of her children. Helen and J.D. settled their family in the nearby village of Swanton, Ohio, where she was a stay at home mother to their 4 children until they reached school age. Helen returned to work as an office manager for Dr. James E. Deck, DDS, Delta, OH.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Swanton, OH, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, acted as Nursery Coordinator and was on many other committees. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader, in B.S.A., pack 98, and co-chaired the Blue and Gold Banquet among other activities.

Helen loved her family, children, and grandchildren. She taught her children the love of Jesus, and that everyone deserved respect and kindness. She was a caregiver to many relatives, friends, and neighborhood children. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, warm smile, homemade brownies and special tacos.

After retiring, Helen and JD moved back to her childhood home and farm in Sevierville, TN and were members of Alder Branch Baptist Church.

Helen was preceded in death, by her husband of 67 years, J.D. Williams, parents, Luther and Roena Hill, siblings, D. Earl Hill, and Dorothy Hill Bradshaw, Brothers- in- law; Herman Bradshaw, Bruce S. Williams, Roger Smitley, James O. Leary, Robert W. Lipinski, Sisters in law; Margie Lipinski, Ruth Leary, nephews; Jim Leary, Jr., Robert Lipinski, Jr. John Bradshaw, Mark Smitley, Zane Smitley, nieces; April Lipinski, and Tammy Smitley and Rhonda Leary Winterfeld.

Helen, is survived by her children, David (Pip) Williams, Donna (Mike) Vascik, Sondra (Doug) Samsen, R. Bruce (Susan) Williams, grandchildren; Kimberly (Richard) Dixon, Michael (Nadine) Vascik, Matthew (Carrie) Vascik, Joe (Jen) Vascik, Ryan (Emily) Williams, Mark (Jessica) Williams, Brian (Kellie) Samsen, Brett (Clara) Samsen, Brad (Alex) Samsen, Brianna Williams, Sabrina Williams, Bella Williams, great grandchildren; Owen Dixon, Helena Dixon, Brandon Williams, Logan Williams, Ella Williams, Henry Williams, Valentine Vascik, Ivan Vascik, and Lawrence Vascik; nieces; Darla Lipinski Wolfe, Debbie Bradshaw Lebo; nephew, Michael (Michele) Bradshaw. Sister-in-law, Aileen Oglesby, Nephews; Audie (Gilda) Smitley, Marlon (Sondra) Smitley. Cousins; Thomas (Betty) Hill, Ronnie (Dorothy) Hill, Karen Roberts, and many others. Special Thanks to Mariah, Katie, and Chaplain James, from the Ohioans Hospice of Perrysburg Ohio.

Family and friends will be received at the Alder Branch Church,  809 Alder Branch Rd. Sevierville, TN on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 2:30-3:30PM. Services will begin immediately following visitation at 3:30 pm followed by burial at the Church Cemetery.
