Harry William Woods

Harry William Woods, affectionately known as “Uncle Boo-Boo” and “Pops”, 81, a proud Vietnam Veteran, went to be with the Lord after a long and challenging journey with cancer, on August 9, 2025 in Toledo, OH. He was born on October 3, 1943 to the late Corporal Charles Franklin Woods Sr. and Harriet Mumford-Woods.

Harry attended St. Benedict Catholic School and was a 1963 graduate of Toledo Public Schools. After fighting in the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1970, he returned to the United States to continue his military service by enlisting into the U.S. Army Reserves in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon completing his military service, he found employment at Libbey Glass where he dedicated many years before retiring. Harry was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He also found joy and purpose in painting houses, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, The Equalizer and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Charles and Harriet, and stepdad, Charles “Volley” Banks, Harry was also preceded in death by his ex-wife, Eleanor Branford; sisters, Patricia Woods-Johnson, Brenda Woods-Davis, Betty Jean Willis and Reva Boykin; brother, Charles “Chucky” Woods; son-in-law, Breon Jenkins; sister-in-law, Linda Conley and brothers-in-law, Terry Branford and Ronald Branford.

His loving memories will be held dear by his only child, Sonya Jenkins, precious granddaughter Breonna (Ethan) Jenkins-Lindquist; beloved stepsons, Brian (Coretta) Branford, Jesse (Sharon) Watson, Antonio (Dana) Watson and Darian (Mary) Watson; sisters-in-law, Elsenior Woods (Aunt Senny), Patricia McLemore, Wanda Branford; brothers-in-law, Gene Branford and Keith Branford of Reading, PA; special nephews, Terry Willis and William Goings; special cousin, Fleming Goings, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and kind friends.
