Gregory Robert Urbanski

Gregory Robert Urbanski, 62 of Toledo, OH, formerly of Waterford, MI passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday September 27, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Greg was born on January 28, 1964 in Toledo, OH to Judith and Robert Urbanski. He grew up in Toledo and attended St. Jude Catholic elementary school and St. Francis de Sales high school graduating in 1982. He later attended the University of Toledo.

Greg spent much of his adult life working for FoodTown, McDonald’s Corp and AVI Food Systems. One of Greg’s greatest passions was spending time with family and friends. He was always known for his culinary treats and loved to entertain and he enjoyed traveling with both family and friends.

His Catholic faith was at the center of Greg’s heart and remained important to him throughout his life. Above all Greg loved his family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his kindness, and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

Greg is survived by his siblings, brother Kenneth (Andrea) Urbanski, sister Susan Kosek, brother Steven (Melissa) Urbanski and brother David (Karrie) Urbanski, as well as nieces and nephews: Andrew, Zachary, Olivia, Emma, Eleanor, Elena, Kiley, Hallee, Allison, DJ, and Morgan. In addition, he has an abundance of grand nieces and nephews and Godchildren whom he loved very much. Greg was also blessed to have a long list of friends, both in Ohio and Michigan, that have been just like family to him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith (Otte) Urbanski and father, Robert Urbanski.

Greg’s family wishes a heartfelt thanks to all those living angels that have assisted him on his journey these last few years and months.

The family will receive guests Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street Toledo.

While Greg will be deeply missed his memory will live on in all the lives he has touched.
