Greggory Lamont Brown-McNutt

Greggory Lamont Brown-McNutt was born November 20, 1985, to the parents of Countess Gant of Battle Creek MI and Otis Brown Sr. of Toledo, OH. At a young age Greg endured the loss of his mother to an illness and the subsequent departure of his father for a period of years. He was adopted by maternal cousins Betty and Julian McNutt of Battle Creek, MI. There he attended elementary, middle & high school later earning his GED. Growing up on the family farm in Battle Creek, MI, he gained valuable skills in landscaping, construction, and various other trades through hands-on experience in the family business. He was deeply connected to both his maternal and paternal families throughout his life. He loved spending summers and holiday breaks with his paternal relatives. Greg was a crafty individual with a passion for working on fixer-uppers. Having worked several different jobs, including a recent position at Honey baked Ham, he was pursuing his goal of starting his own detailing company. Greg's had a selfless and outspoken personality combined with honesty, he was not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for those around him.

Greg a loving, devoted father leaves behind seven children: Kamaree, Greggory Jr., Noel, Emmanuel, twins Denique - Khalil McNutt and Jeremiah Worthem of Battle Creek, MI, brothers: Otis Jr, Julian, Myron, Tod, Kavaseiay and Kyle McNutt of Battle Creek, MI, sisters: Breona, Tiffany, Kenyatta and Jessica McNutt, Monique Bowen of Battle Creek, MI. His favorite girl cousin Victoria Brown of Toledo, OH. Also leaving behind nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him. Greg was preceded in death by his beloved mother Countess Gant, paternal grandmother Mary Files-Brown, aunt Irene Brown, uncles Jimmy & Tommy Brown and cousins Katherine Brown, Renee, and Jerry McGee.

The Brown and McNutt families are incredibly grateful for all the support, kind words, and prayers during this difficult time. May God continue to bless!

The family will receive guests Friday, July 25, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin Friday at 1 :00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Cedric Brock officiating.
