Greg O'Connor, born December 21, 1954 in Niles, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in Toledo, Ohio on August 2, 2026. Throughout his 71 years, Greg made a lasting impact on all those fortunate enough to know him.

Greg’s remarkable life was marked by a strong work ethic and dedication to his career. He retired after more than thirty years of service with Seyferts Potato Chips, where his commitment and reliability were widely respected. Through his decades of work, he formed bonds with colleagues that extended far beyond the workplace and reflected his loyal spirit.

Those who knew Greg will forever remember his vibrant presence. With a very loud personality, he brought unmistakable energy into every room—one always knew when Greg had arrived. He lived and loved wholeheartedly, never holding back in his affections for family and friends.

A true sports enthusiast, Greg was celebrated as a walking sports encyclopedia. His passion for Notre Dame and the Lions football teams was legendary among those close to him, and his support for the Detroit Tigers never wavered, no matter the season. Greg’s love of sports extended to the thrill of horse racing, where he enjoyed both watching and betting on the races. Sports were not just a pastime for Greg—they were a way of connecting and celebrating the moments that make life engaging and joyful.

Greg also found joy in the kitchen, and he was known for his cooking and the warmth he brought to shared meals. He cherished the adventures and experiences from traveling with his beloved wife, Robin (Ayers), creating memories that remain vivid for those who journeyed by his side.

Family stood at the center of Greg’s life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Robin O'Connor; sons, Sean O'Connor and Shane O'Connor; and cherished grandson, Miles O'Connor. Greg is also survived by his mother-in-law, Karen Fulkert; brother-in-law, Dewey Ayers; and sister-in-law, Beth Kramer. In addition, he leaves behind several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Leo O'Connor; his mother, Dorothy O'Connor; and his father-in-law, John Ayers. Their memories remained dear to him throughout his life.

Greg O'Connor’s presence, enthusiasm, and love have left a lasting imprint on his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held at a later date.
