Heaven just got a little rowdier—and a lot more Polish.

George A. Uscilowski, 87, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026. George was born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1939 to Rose (Markowiak) and Sigmund “Ziggy” Uscilowski. He attended Central Catholic High School, where he played football and graduated in 1957.

George loved traveling, skiing, boating, fishing, golfing, and, in his later years, gambling. Above all, however, his greatest love was his family.

George met Jeanne at a young age, and they married on October 28, 1961. He became a father in 1962, a grandfather in 1992, and a great-grandfather in 2024. Throughout his life, George took pride in many accomplishments, including his dedicated career at AP Parts, his membership of the Eagles and American Legion, and his four years of honorable service in the United States Navy. During his service, he served aboard a minesweeper and was a veteran of the Vietnam era.

George loved sharing stories with his family about the many trips he took with Jeanne and his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Maryanne, Larry, Drew, and Jennifer. In later years, some of his favorite outings were trips to the ballpark, golf course, football field, and volleyball court, where he could be found cheering on his three granddaughters as they competed in their sports.

George is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Jeanne; his son, Mark (Diane) Uscilowski; his three granddaughters, Kayla (Ben) West, Cassidy Uscilowski, and Lexi Uscilowski; and his great-grandson, Calvin West.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Ziggy, and his children, Allen, Mary, and Joseph.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27,2026 from 4–8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel) 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church in Toledo, Ohio, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

In a beautiful and meaningful tribute to their enduring love and lifelong commitment, Jeanne wished for George’s funeral to be held on what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. It is a fitting day to honor the vows they made to one another so many years ago: “Till death do us part.”
