Geoff Clark, age 68, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2024 at home. He was born on July 14, 1955 to Everett and Margot Clark in Toledo. Geoff graduated from 1973 from Sylvania High School where he went to state meets for track and cross-country and then attended The Ohio State University. He worked at Jacobson's Department Store for many years, where he met many lifelong friends. Geoff coached middle school and high school track and cross-country sports. He continued to be an avid runner, loved being outside in the Toledo Metroparks and was a die-hard fan of Michigan football.
Geoff struggled with substance abuse for many years and never stopped helping others with similar struggles. He became a Christian in 2014, was baptized in 2015 and became a greeter at the West Campus of Cedar Creek Church for 7 years where he touched many people's hearts. Geoff was a true champion of the underdog.
Geoff was loyal to a fault and generous with his time as he never met a stranger. Most important to Geoff was his family, who were his pride and joy, including all of his nieces and nephews. He formed his own unique and special relationship with each and every one of them, which they will cherish forever. Geoff's sense of humor was legendary, his quick wit and laughs will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish Geoff's memory are his loving siblings, Deb Batdorf, Ward (Deb) Clark, John (Gwen) Clark, Julia (Dan) Donaldson and Amy Clark; nieces and nephews, Bryan (Jennifer) Batdorf, Brad Batdorf, Michael Batdorf, Betsey (Jason) Anderson, Steven Clark, Laura Clark, Scott Clark, Ellen (George) Pilat, Emily Clark, Joseph (Becky) Donaldson, and Jamie (Zach) Donaldson; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins and many dear friends.
There will be no visitation of Geoff. A Celebration of Life will be held in July, details will follow.
