Gary M. Weaver

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary M. Weaver, aged 72, of Petersburgh, who departed this life on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the care of Hospice of Petersburgh, after bravely enduring a lengthy illness.

Born on August 14, 1953, in Toledo, Gary was a man deeply rooted in his community and a proud graduate of Start High School in Toledo. His lifelong career in the elevator industry began in 1978, eventually leading him to retire in 2013 from Toledo Elevator, where his work ethic and dedication were greatly admired by colleagues and acquaintances alike.

Gary's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his devoted partner, Rebecca Zaborski. Their bond was highlighted not only through their shared experiences but also through the close relationships Gary fostered with Rebecca's family. He embraced her children, Paul (Ann) Zaborski and Elizabeth Brown, with open arms and an abundance of affection. To the five  grandchildren of Rebecca, he became a beloved figure—grandfatherly in spirit and heart, cherishing every moment spent together, creating memories that will forever resonate within their lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Delana Clark Weaver, who undoubtedly laid the foundation of strength and kindness that Gary exemplified throughout his life. As we remember him, we celebrate a man of integrity and warmth, a cornerstone in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.

In accordance with Gary's wishes, there will be no visitation. Instead, let us honor his memory through remembrance and reflection on the indelible mark he left upon our hearts.
