Gary Moore, Sr.

Gary Moore, Sr. of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on November 17, 1943, in Toledo, he spent his life deeply rooted in his community and cherished by his family.

Gary was an avid farmer, taking great pride in the land he cultivated. His love for agriculture was matched only by his passion for tropical fish, a hobby that saw him supply both Belle Isle and the Shedd's Aquariums with beautiful specimens. A sports enthusiast at heart, he was especially devoted to University of Michigan Football and the Detroit Lions.

His personality shone brightly during gatherings at the Moose Lodge, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends, creating countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Gary's life was enriched by his five loving children, Trisha (Bob) Biggs, Elaine (Ed) Wilson, Gary Jr. (Kathy) Moore, Kenneth (Nate) Moore, and Jean Moore. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He is survived by his siblings, Carol Birch, Walter Turk, Allen Turk, Sam Turk, and Kathy Santana. Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Moore, sister Frances Reed, as well as his brothers Richard Turk and David Turk.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623, on January 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 5:00 PM.

Gary Moore, Sr. will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a passionate farmer, and a friend to many. His warm spirit and love for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
