Gary James Jagodzinski

Gary James Jagodzinski of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 31st, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald J. Jagodzinski, and mother Marlene A. (Piasecki) Jagodzinski.

He is survived by his loving wife, and best friend of twenty-three years, Julie Justine (Gale) Jagodzinski. She was a special woman who gave him support whenever it was needed, and was strong enough to keep him on the right track. He Loved her with all of his heart, and will miss her for eternity.

Also surviving is his son, Gavin J. Jagodzinski, daughter, Karly R. Jagodzinski, who he loved dearly, and thought of them every day. He is also survived by his loving stepchildren, Jamie Gale, Jeannie Gale, Jason Gale, and Joey Gale, who were in his eyes, his own. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Juelz, Liam, Sterling-Jack, Vadden, Josiah, Mirah, Serenity, Letty, Elijah, Jaclyn, Jason, and Audriana.

A special mention also goes to his distant Arizona family, son, Kyler and wife, Cherish Willis with their 4 children; Noah, Korbin, Chandler, and Crimson. From his immediate family, he is survived by his sister Sharon and husband, Mark Kinstler, and niece Ashley Keivens.

Gary attended St. Clements grade school and graduated from Whitmer HS class of 1976. He then went on to enlist in the United States Air Force where he completed three tours of duty. He was especially proud of his duties overseas. He left the military in 1989 due to health reasons. He was a true patriot who loved the USA.

He finished his career as a Quality Engineer and worked at various manufacturing companies. The most notable was Benchmark National Corp. They took great care of Gary, and he made many friends there where he retired in 2021.

For fun, Gary enjoyed, horses, Harley Davidsons, camping, fishing, hiking, and just about anything outdoors. Including, traveling with his wife, back yard parties and time with his family.

Gary will miss all of you that he encountered throughout his life. Whether you were family, a love, a close friend, an acquaintance, or even an enemy. All of you had molded Gary into the man that he had become. A special thank you to Hospice of NW Ohio, especially RN Cristy.

Visitation for Gary will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9th; funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home NW Chapel on Laskey Road. Burial Services with military honors will follow the funeral at Toledo Memorial Park.

Gary stated, “that if you cannot make it to the funeral, he will understand. He will come see you”.
