G. “Kent” Wymer II, age 53, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2026, at Mercy Health Perrysburg Hospital. Born on October 5, 1972, in Toledo, he was the beloved son of Gary and Donna (Borders) Wymer. A proud graduate of the University of Toledo, Kent went on to serve as President of Wymer Adjusting, LLC.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Michelle L. Wymer, whom he married on August 19, 2025; his devoted parents, Gary and Donna Wymer; his cherished children, Willow Olivia Wymer, Odin Skye Wymer, Aero Winston Wymer; step-children Taylor (Drake) Harris, Alexandra Strauss, Sidney Strauss, and Sam Grosteffon; his twin sister, Beth Wymer (Lance Reno); and sisters Andrea (Ron) Jurgenson and Amy (Phil) Cain; his late brother-in-law Tim Grosteffon and his wife, Melodie, and brother-in-law Tony Grosteffon. He was a treasured uncle to Megan Yockey, Ryan (Samantha) Yockey, Katie (Sam) Riddell, Hannah Tomaszewski, Dani Tomaszewski, Lindsay Humbles, Madison Humbles, Tate Reno and Colette Wymer.
To know Kent was to feel profoundly and unconditionally loved. He never hesitated to say “I love you,” and he meant it every single time he spoke the words. Kent had a rare gift for bringing joy into any room-an unmistakable presence who lifted everyone’s spirit, sparked laughter, and made everyone feel seen and loved. His love for his wife and his children was the heartbeat of his life, and he poured every ounce of his beautiful soul into them.
An exceptional lifelong athlete, Kent earned First‑Team All‑City honors in both football and tennis, serving as team captain in each sport at St. John’s Jesuit High School, Class of ’91, in Toledo, Ohio. Kent earned college scholarships in both football and tennis, ultimately choosing to play tennis for the University of Toledo, where he was the tennis team captain. A sport he not only excelled in but joyfully shared with others. His years teaching at Shadow Valley Tennis Club allowed him to touch countless lives, inspiring a lifelong love of the game in many.
Kent also held a deep passion for music where he was a skilled musician playing multiple instruments for more than 30 years. He composed, played, and performed with family and friends, creating memories woven into melodies that will live on. He especially cherished making music alongside those closest to him, including his daughter Willow, his wife Michelle, cousin Bryce Wymer, and other dear family members Ryan, Madison, and Dani. Even on the last day of his life, Kent was dreaming up future songs to create together.
While the loss of such a bright and beautiful soul leaves an immeasurable void, Kent would want those he loved and touched throughout his life to celebrate him by living as he did…FULLY, with kindness, laughter, generosity, and deep, unwavering love. His legacy is one of joy, connection, and a heart that embraced everyone.
