Frederick G. Morgan of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 27th while at his daughter's home in Georgia. Born to Frederick and Mary Morgan, on October 1, 1933, in Glen Cove, NY, he returned to his home in Dublin Ireland until his family immigrated to the USA after the war.
Graduating from Central Catholic High School with a football scholarship to the University of Toledo where he enlisted in the University's ROTC program. Upon graduation joined the US Army because he loved his country. Fred was a very competitive athlete who loved playing college football. During his time in the Army, he coached the ROTC's football team and continued to play for many years in the annual Ole Timers games. Fred was a career Salesman achieving #1 in Sales countless times over the years.
During college Fred liked to help his father train horses. He was involved with the horse racing business since he was a teenager. And working for his father at Hasty House Farm in Toledo, OH, the top horse breeder in the US during the 1950's. Fred loved performing card tricks that always entertained and amazed his friends and family at events and family gatherings.
Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Judy and his son Michael, is survived by his seven children: Kathleen Lyell (Peter), Blacksburg, VA, Fred Morgan, Maumee, OH, Deborah Hampel (Jim), Alpharetta, GA, John Morgan, Toledo, Ohio, Timothy Morgan (Blida), Alpharetta, GA, Jennifer L'hommedieu (Chris), Roswell, GA, and Annie Anop (Jeff), Milton, GA. Also blessed with his (11) grandchildren, Bethanne, Thomas, Gabrielle, Matthew, Isabel, Lindsay, Sean, Lillian, Madiline, Emma and Jack. (2) Great Grandchildren Brianna and Christopher. Also survived by his sister, Virginia Manzagol (Al).
Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 5:00 to 8: 00p.m located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., in Toledo, and will end with the recitation of the Rosary.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614, with a graveside service to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
