Frederick David Morrison Jr., passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on September 27, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Frederick and Maurine (Best) Morrison.
Fred was an alumnus of Northview High School where he completed the Trade Preparatory Program and laid the foundation for a career that would see him flourish as a mechanical engineer. His dedication and expertise in engineering allowed him to make a lasting impact in his field. He retired as Director of Engineering from Blissfield Manufacturing.
Beyond his professional life, Fred had a variety of interests that shaped who he was. He was a passionate craftsman and an avid woodworker, skillfully crafting several grandfather clocks from scratch. He also enjoyed landscaping, caring for his koi ponds, feeding squirrels and birds, and enjoying time outdoors with family and friends. Fred was a devoted member of the Republican Party and cared deeply for our country. Fred also served as an Elder for many years at Flanders Road Church of Christ, and later Northwest Christian Church in Temperance, Michigan.
Above all else Fred loved his wife, Sharon Lynn Morrison, to whom he was married for 47 years. Fred and Sharon met when Sharon was only 14 years old and Fred was 22. They were married August 27, 1971 and spent their lives completely devoted to one another as they loved and cared for their family. Fred never let a day pass without making Sharon know she was the most cherished part of his life. Together they were involved in church activities, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. They always enjoyed adventurous trips to Shipshewana, and visiting family in Marco Island and Cape Cod.
Fred will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Matthew Morrison, Eric (Kathleen) Morrison, and Brett Morrison; grandchildren, Isaac, Madison, Lindsey, Elaina, Ally, and Mason; siblings, Connie (Malcolm) Goodman and Tom (Denise) Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Lynn Morrison; and niece, Kelly Quinn (Morrison) Eskridge.
At this time a public memorial is not planned. In lieu of flowers or donations to the family, please consider performing an act of kindness towards others.
