Frederick and Estella Powell

Fred Powell, age 85, of Toledo, passed away July 6, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Fred was born November 6, 1939, in Toledo to Russell and Thelma (Reilly) Powell. He was a Macomber graduate with the class of 1958. Fred served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Stella Powell, age 77, of Toledo, passed away July 2, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Stella was born June 3, 1948, in Toledo to Cruz and Mildred (Avalos) Garcia. She was a Woodward graduate with the class of 1968.

In addition to their parents, Fred and Stella were preceded in death by Fred's sister, Patricia Wamer, Stella's sisters, Mary Garcia and Mildred Garcia, and Great Nephew, Andrew Garcia. They are survived by son, Fred (Stephanie) Powell; daughter, Jane Powell; grandchildren, Zachary Powell, Dalaina Morse, Sarah Kessler, and Delija Kessler; great niece, Alisa Garcia and great great niece, Andrea Garcia-Aguilar; siblings, Dolores Garcia, Josie Garcia, Tina Woronec, Rose Garcia, Cruz J. Garcia, Jr., Kay (John) Kunz and brother-in-law, Richard Wamer.

The family will receive guests Monday, August 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer- SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday, August 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
